When in doubt, paint. At Paint Joy Foundation’s Paint The Ride, Show guests will get to watch creativity in action. Artists from Paint Joy will be turning car hoods, and even a car itself, into a blank canvas. Guests of the Show will have the opportunity to watch the painting go down as they enter the Show doors. As a supplement to this amazing creative piece, there will also be a canvas area where kids (of any age) will have the opportunity to canvas by way of tire treaded paint tracks. Visitors of all ages can pick up a toy truck, roll it in some paint, and add their own mark. Stop by early, come back often, and watch the finished piece take shape with the most amazing artistic design.

San Antonio’s car culture shows up every weekend at meets across the city, and Park & Chill is bringing the best of it indoors on this year’s San Antonio Auto & Truck Show floor. This exhibit features ten of the city’s standout builds, hand-picked by Park & Chill, from spotless exotics to head-turning street cars. Each one represents countless hours of wrenching, polishing and pride from local owners. Big thrills come in small packages at RC Drift. In this interactive exhibit, guests will have the chance to steer detailed remote-control cars around a purpose-built course, sliding sideways through tight corners with the same precision and style as full-size drift pros. It’s fast, technical and hard to look away from. 

Kids love the action, and longtime gearheads will appreciate the engineering in every build. Catch a run, talk shop with the drivers and those leading the organization, and see how much skill fits in the palm of your hand.

RC Drift Network is a community for drivers who know the best lines aren’t always straight ones. It was crafted to bring RC drifters together to build, tune and slide side by side, whether they’re seasoned pros or just picking up their first controller. The Vault has long been a fan favorite at the Show, and this year display will be no exception. Step inside for an up-close look at exotic and luxury vehicles, the kind of machines most people only see on posters and screens. Gleaming paint, sculpted bodywork and serious performance make this one of the Show’s most photographed displays. Must love dogs AND cats! …and Subies! Subaru Loves Pets returns to the Show, teaming up with local adoption organization, Animal Defense League, to help pups and kittens across the San Antonio region find their furever homes. Stop by to meet the animals waiting for families of their own. It’s part of Subaru’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare. If you’re ready to add a furry family member, be prepared to fall in love. 

The Animal Defense League is a non-profit organization that rescues homeless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens and provides medical treatment, nutrition, and shelter in a safe, live-release facility until they are matched with their forever families. Hit the trail without leaving the Show floor. The Ford Bronco Simulator puts you in the driver’s seat for a virtual off-road adventure, so you can feel what it’s like to take on rugged terrain in one of America’s most iconic 4x4s. Climb, crawl and bounce your way through the simulation, then head over to see the real thing up close. Whether you’re a weekend adventurer or just dreaming of being one, it’s the most fun you’ll have in a Bronco without getting muddy.

This year, the Show is excited to host a high-speed challenge attached to all the heartstrings of the opportunity to give back to the community. A collection of non-profit organizations will be competing in a bracketology of this car-stuffing event on Saturday, November 7, from  will be guests are invited to help fill a vehicle to the roof with donations of [items] benefiting [beneficiary organization]. Every item helps a neighbor in need and brings the car one step closer to full. Bring something with you when you visit, add it to the pile, and help show just how much the San Antonio community can pack into one ride.

The wild side of the Show comes courtesy of the San Antonio Zoo. Guests can meet wildlife visiting us from the zoo, and see these cuddly creatures and the scaled ones, too, up close. Experts will share facts about the animals and the conservation work the Zoo leads to protect wildlife around the world. It’s a can’t-miss stop for families, and a reminder that some of the most impressive designs on the planet were around long before the automobile. The zoo animals will be onsite midday Saturday and Sunday.

The Kids Ride & Drive is for future drivers who can’t wait to get behind the wheel. It was built to give the youngest guests at the San Antonio Auto & Truck Show a spot of their own on the Show floor, where they can hop into a mini electric car and cruise the track in a ride sized just for them, made possible by local San Antonio dealerships. While grown-ups test drive the newest models outside, kids get their own taste of the open road, with plenty of smiles along the way. It’s the perfect stop for families and might just spark a lifelong love of cars.

The Media Challenge, powered by the San Antonio Honda Dealers, puts the people who usually cover the story at the center of it. Members of San Antonio’s media will trade their mics and cameras for a series of lighthearted, car-themed challenges, all in a friendly competition to win dollars for the charity of their choice from the San Antonio Auto Dealers Association. 

Contestants might find themselves racing to locate tire pressure and other important elements of everyday maintenance to guessing what’s under the hood while blindfolded, or seeing how many beach balls they can stuff into a trunk before time runs out. Bragging rights are on the line, but the real winners are the local charities. Guests are invited to gather around, enjoy the show and cheer on their favorite media personalities in the Honda exhibit on Friday, November 6, at 3 p.m.

Food Truck Alley is where Show-goers refuel between test drives and showroom laps. It was built to bring together a lineup of local favorites and sweet treats, so there’s something for every appetite on the Show floor. Grab birria from Team Birria or smoked favorites from 3B BBQ, then keep your engine running with coffee from Dos Perros or Cafe Destiny, or a tea from HTeaO.
